Licenses

The one-stop-shop inside the Salalah Free Zone department handles on behalf of the investors formalities such as visas, work permits, application for utilities, construction permits, commercial licenses, environmental permits among others.

Salalah Free Zone issues various types of licenses:

  • A General Trading License allows the holder to import, export, distribute, and store all items as per the Free Zone rules and regulations
  • A Trading License allows the holder to import, export, distribute, and store items specified on the license.
  • An Industrial License allows the holder to import raw materials, carry out the manufacturing of specified products, and export the finished product to any country. This license is subject to clearances from the respective ministries.
  • A Service License allows the holder to carry out the services specified in the license, within the Free Zone. The type of service must conform to the parent company’s license, issued by the economic department or municipality of the relevant region.

Facilities

Office space is available for lease for tenants. Business Incubators are available at the new headquarters building and will help start-ups to be operational and focus on growth and development of the business.

Serviced land is available for long term leases at competitive rates to be used for construction of facilities, as well warehouses of different sizes are available for rent.

Roads are continuously being developed and maintained to ensure all plots in the free zone are offered the required connectivity.

Communities

SFZCO has managed to create several communities to support investors during their journey. The financial community has been created to connect investors with entities that could support them setup and or finance their business needs. Some members are also willing to put in equity into the businesses to support launch and growth.
